Join 1st LT Sharon A. Lane Memorial Post, VFW Post 12190 Monday 26 May at 1100am as we honor our fallen service members on Memorial Day. We honor our fallen with live performances of our National Anthem by Heather Johnson, America the Beautiful by Frances Anne Floresca Baldwin, Mrs. Georgia at Universe United, Bugle rendition of Taps by PO1 Ian Bartholomew, USN, and Amazing Grace by Mr. Greg Wickens, Pipe Major Augusta Pipes & Drum. Our local community leaders, Ms. Allison Couch, District 4 Commissioner for Columbia County, , and Katie Allen, District 4, who served our military and deployed during "Operation New Dawn" will speak to our community. Come meet Mr. Patterson, Vietnam Veteran who will describe his time as a Convoy driver in Vietnam and the loss of fellow comrades. He is the author of "Vietnam Convoy Trucker" (meet and greet and book signing on site). If you are a military organization or Gold Star family who would like to place a wreath or flag at the Ceremony, we would love for you to come on out. If you are a family member of a loved one who has served our nation and has since passed on feel free to bring a photo of your loved one. We will have a table set up where we can photograph and document those great heroes who defended our freedom. *** This event is not a political event. We are recognizing our heroes of the past. Prior to the ceremony stop by the VFW Post 12190 Hqs at 4290 Triangle Industrial Ct. Evans for breakfast from 8-10am. Open to all Veterans. There is no charge. This is one of our favorite events of the year! Llano Cemetery will honor the courageous men and women who served our country with a special Memorial Day ceremony. We would like to invite everyone to the ceremony to remember, reflect and pay tribute to those who served our nation! Mark your calendars and we hope to see you all there!
